Are you certified organic?
We are not certified organic but we believe in the transparency of our operations. We only offer what we eat ourselves! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok or subscribe to our email newsletters to stay up-to-date on our operations.
What are your certifications?
Our beef is processed and certified through a USDA facility here in Texas. This means our beef can be sold and shipped in the lower 48 states.
Are all the animals you sell raised on your ranch?
Yes! We take pride in knowing where our beef comes from. All animals processed are from cows born and raised on our ranch. Our bulls are bought from great bloodlines across Texas and are specifically chosen to be bred with our cows for easy birth weight and good genetics.
Do you give antibiotics to your cattle?
We do not give any of our beef that is used for our meat program any antibiotics, EVER. If an animal in our meat program were to need antibiotics, they would be pulled from our program and not re-enter. Animals do get sick, just like people and do need medical intervention and/or antibiotics from time to time. This is necessary for their well-being. However, they will not be processed for our direct to consumer beef.
Do you give hormones and/or steroids to your cattle?
No, our beef that is used in our direct to consumer business is never given hormones or steroids for added growth benefit.
How are your cattle raised and finished?
We offer two different kinds of finished beef products here at Petsch Cattle Company: Grain finished beef or Grass fed beef. Our Grain finished beef is raised on pasture land and finished with a mixed grain feed, bagged a local mill. Our Grass fed beef is raised on pasture land and remains on pasture land for the entirety of their life. All of our cattle are fed supplementary hay grown on our ranch when needed.
What breeds of animals do you raise and process?
We raise a mix of Angus/Hereford crosses. Our bulls are pure black Angus and our cows and heifers are a mix of Hereford and Angus black baldies (black body with a white head or face).
